Original Inquiry:
MANUEL NUNES
This tombstone was found in 1992 at a home in Sebastopol. The buyers of this home called several Nunes family members but could not find anyone interested in the marker. When they moved to Petaluma, they took the tombstone with them.
It is engraved:
Manuel Beloved Son
Marino & Mary Nunes
Died Jan 22, 1914.
Aged 4 yrs. & 8 mos.
I suspect that this may be a member of the dairy farming Nunes family that has lived in the Tomales-Point Reyes area of Marin County for generations. There is no record of such a person dying or being buried in Sonoma County, so the tombstone may have been stolen and brought here. |
