Call to Order: Tony called meeting to order.
Board Members Present: Jeremy Nichols, Tony Hoskins, Jeff Tobes, Phyllis Schmidt, Lee Torliatt, Guy Smith, Sean Bressie, John Schubert, Harry Lapham, and Kathy Fitzpatrick Absent: Ron Davis; Diane Smith Minutes: Minutes of the October meeting were accepted Treasurer’s Report: Jeff distributed the Income/Expense Statement for 10/18/2007 – 11/15/2007 Jeff also thanked Jeremy for a job well done for our first lecture series held two weeks ago – sold out event at the Sonoma County Museum for guest speaker Randall Milliken. Excellent job Jeremy!! Membership Report: Sean announce total membership at this time = 325 members. A thank you was received from the Sturgeon’s Mill board thanking the Historical Society for the $100 donation made to them. Archivist’s Report: Lee announced he now and then receives phone calls for varying inquires and has successfully forward the inquires to the appropriate people. Cemeterian Report: Jeremy was the guest speaker at the Santa Rosa Rotary lunch recently. His topic was the Chanate Cemetery and approximately 100 people were in attendance. Jo Russell, representative for the Genealogic Society notified Jeremy a “blurb” on the Chanate Cemetery will be included in their newsletter, The Forum. Journal Report: Lee reported the target date for the next issue is early December. This issue will feature color photos on the front/back cover and will include a story of “The Chamise Kid”, the MacMurray Ranch, and a piece on the Randall Milliken lecture. . Committee Reports: Lecture Series: Jeremy reported the Hotel La Rose was very generous with the bill for Mr. Milliken’s stay in Santa Rosa for his lecture. Next lecture in the series is scheduled for the first Thursday in February. Gaye Lebaron is tentatively scheduled as the guest speaker. Her topic, yet to be confirmed, is about Fountaingrove - Thomas Lake Harris and the Utopian dream. Jeremy will be in contact with Ms. Lebaron to confirm her lecture topic. More details to come. Due to sold out attendance at the last lecture, a discussion was held regarding the possibility of not having enough seating for our second installment. A disclaimer will be included with the advertisement on the web site regarding limited seating and encouragement for those interested to RSVP. Further discussion on subject at that time if needed. Heritage Network Meeting: Next meeting in January, 2008 date/location TBA Website: Sean announced he is working with software to update our website. The update is being worked on “in the background’ with more info to come on the improvements. New Business: -Brief discussion regarding the annual luncheon. Tentative date is for March 29, 2008 at the Fountaingrove Golf & Country Club. More info to come. -Harry announced a lunch with Sherman at the Union Hotel in East Santa Rosa was scheduled for Wednesday, November 21st (Harry’s Birthday!). Board members are welcome to attend with the lunch scheduled at 12:15pm. -Guy announced he had recently been interviewed for the Eye on the Bay series. The interview about his father will be broadcast on Wednesday, November 21st at 7pm on KPIX – local channel 5.
