SONOMA COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY Call to Order: Tony called meeting to order.

Archivist’s Report:
Lee reported questions/inquires continue to “trickle in”. He has been able to answer/respond to all inquires.
Cemeterian Report:
Jeremy reported he has a meeting regarding assistance with the Chanate Cemetery markers set up for next Wednesday, July 25th with David Arnold, representative from the Odd Fellows organization. More info to come after his meeting.
Also, John Ryan from the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation is doing a write-up request for financial assistance for the markers as well. Again – more info to come.
In doing research for the first installment of his trilogy – Potters Field, Jeremy reported he is coming across stories of events and dramatic deaths in old newspaper archives of some of the inhabitants of the Chanate Cemetery. A printout of a recent example was passed around the table during the meeting.
Jeremy also reported the Genology Society is interested in approaching the local historical societies for any writings or lists of names from their areas. A concentration on the Sonoma area was mentioned.
Journal Report:
Lee reported the possibility of an article for an upcoming Journal. He is currently reviewing a manuscript on the Proschold family in the Cazadero area.
Lecture Series:
Jeremy has been in contact with Randall Milliken requesting specifics for his upcoming subject for the first lecture series scheduled for this coming November.
Committee Reports:

Sean is continuing to scan past journals to the website. He also reported he has been getting price quotes for the needed PA system. He has received a price quote on a soundboard from Zone Music in Cotati and is currently looking into the cost of either an 8foot or 10foot screen. More info to come.
Heritage Network Meeting:
Tony gave all board members a copy of the meeting minutes from the last Heritage Network meeting held last Saturday at the library.
Ongoing Business:
September Fundraiser:
Tony has been in contact with Gallo Family representatives Roger Riccardi and his assistant Renee who are handling the organizing of the fundraiser. Copies of our membership roster along with the mailing list used for the quarterly Journal are needed soon for the mailings to be sent out. Kathy will email Susan Burns to request the forwarding of the lists to them.
Guy announced the Fred Mac Murray film chosen to be shown at the fundraiser is the 1950 film “Never a Dull Moment” which also stars Irene Dunne, Andy Devine, and a young Natalie Wood.
New Business:
Ron Davis announced he will be assisting with research and editing for an upcoming book to be authored by Penny Hutton on the Forestville area.
